Bubbles for Shadow, etc - July

Admit it, you'd poep yourself if you saw a German Shepherd jumping up at you with jaws open... Emma encourages this behavious in Shadow... by blowing bubbles for him with her soapy mixture.

A while ago we stumbled upon the fact that bubbles and a torchlight shone on the ground drives our poor dog mad - he has to catch them... the light and the bubbles - and he's relentless.

Emma finds it hysterical.

Brave little girl. Shadow thinking: I know there are bubbles around here somewhere.

More bathtime pics.

Sleeping with Teddy.

Chloe catching up on some reading while in the bouncy chair.

First tooth - and looking happy enough.

Emma's 3rd birthday - 1 July

It started, as birthdays of young children always do, way too early in the morning.
Emma ran through to our room for a Heany tradition - opening presents on the bed.
There were lots of cool prezzies - a pram and car seat for a dolly - which Teddy got to sit in.

A duck - very important to get a duck.

A cool yellow jacket and goggles for her swimming.

Then party time - and a fairy party...

One of the activities at the party was cupcake making - the kids get to decorate their own - with mini mallows, jelly babies, icing, etc. Emma didn't hold back.

Best mom in the world made some cupcakes for the adults and a Tinkerbelle cake for the birthday girl.

With all the attention on Emma, dad and Granny got left holding the baby - who wasn't a happy camper - but she liked the kanga pouch...

The dog kennel was a great attraction for all the kiddies.

Then it was time for the singing of Happy Birthday... gather round everyone...

Emma and the other fairies...

Dominique getting in on our family photo moment - I was going to
elbow her in the face, but Cath stopped me.

Emma and Emma, opening more party prezzies and reading stories after the excitement of the party.

Painting, fam and theatre - late Jun

Breakfast time on Venus....

... and a close-up of Chloe in her bumbo seat...

After brekkie it was time for a bit of painting in the yard...

Emma helping to keep Chloe entertained with the Winnie the Pooh mobile.

Chloe having a lag in her sleep. Cute.

This one was taken at a show we took the kids to see at the Baxter - Dominique and Emma had an absolute ball in the back row of the theatre - and this was before the show even started!

Sister love and mommy love - just can't get too much love.

Quite chuffed with myself - Emma loves going to the park to play on the swing... so I hooked up my own in the back. She LOVES it!

Chloe practising tummy time.

These biscuits came home from school with Emma - a miracle in itself - that they baked in her class.
Mmm... biscuits

Chasing the gulls at Fishhoek - 23 Jun

So we took a trip to Fishhoek where I taught Emma all about the finer, classy things in life... like chasing seagulls....

Then it was time for sand castles...

And we built a sand-mermaid...
with shells and seaweed. Secretly I was just uber chuffed she was getting her hands dirty and sticky - Cath feared we may have one of those "I don't want to touch that, it feels icky" children. But thank the Lord, we don't.

And after all that hard work... DESTROY! DESTROY! DESTROY!

Then a walk along the beach to calm down before a trip to the playpark next to the beach - one of the main reasons we go to Fishhoek instead of the other beaches. That and the ice cream.

As if Facebook, gmail and hotseminakedswedishblondes.com weren't taking up enough of my time, now I'm writing a blog!

Oh well - it just goes to show - any idiot can write a blog.
