Argus cycle tour - and a move-in date

Many of my cycling friends are now pooh-poohing the Argus cycle Tour - the biggest timed cycle race in the world I'll have you know - saying that the appeal is fading and that other, more strenuous events are the way to go.

I still like it, but I'm happy to watch it now. Hey, I've done 6.

I's 109kms - around the Cape peninsula - up hills and mountains, along highways, with 34,999 other cyclists to keep you company.

Stevie Smith made his way past on the far side of the
road from us. He was so fast he was just a blur.

This year, I made a plan to take my church youth club
along - with a skottel to make bacon and egg rolls.

It went down well.

Rory's ass in the distance... I wasn't too quick on the draw with my camera. In fact, I would have missed him completely if Catherine hadn't yelled at me - "There's Rory you dumbass!" (or something like that).

Last but not least, one of our own came past - Trevor from the Youth Club - in his first Argus. He was kind enough to stop for a photie (so I got a good one).

Okay, quick newsflash:

We move into our house next week, pretty much exactly one year since we returned from Ireland.

Ignore the date above this post - this is a post for the 7th of March.

The old fogie leaves on the Monday and we're in on the Tuesday (the 16th March).

Then the packing, carrying and shlep begins.

First priority: making the baby room comfy and dark.

Second priority: get the dogs and cat used to the place so that they don't want to escape.

Everything else can be done later.

I think we have our first braai for the Heany fam on the Thursday.

As if Facebook, gmail and hotseminakedswedishblondes.com weren't taking up enough of my time, now I'm writing a blog!

Oh well - it just goes to show - any idiot can write a blog.
