Campin in Beaverlac (friends n fam) part 2

Relaxing round the camp.

The rather gorgeous Emma... and her niece.
Buff enjoys watching work happen.

Emma plays with Teddy.

Two very rare pictures - Buff lifting a finger to do some work... and me relaxing. Both of these only happened for a fraction of a second.

Happy campers.

Emma likes to push other children - in fact the last time she and Patrick played together, he walked around telling his parents for the next four days "Emma pushed me". So it was great to see them playing nicely together.

So cute man.

Off to the rock pool, kitted out in swimming gear.

Play time was earlier, this is bath time.

Dad heads off to the shops, with some taggers on.

And returns.

Buff handled the second night's meal. Braai night 1. Potjie night 2. It was gooooood.

Story time before bed.

Lounging about. Honestly, what a life!

Okay, with a bit of pressure from the parents, little Emma and little Patrick shared a hug and a kiss. Patrick seems to want none of it in picture 1, but he was all tongue when they eventually got going. Sies man.

Getting ready for bed while we waited patiently for our food.

Morning tea and coffee. mmmm.

Bacon and eggs, sausies, tomato, etc.

Yummy

And off to the rockpool we go again, one last time.

Campin in Beaverlac (friends n fam) part 1

A relaxing weekend - that was the plan. With Youth Camp having been at Beaverlac, we decided Cath also needed a chance to go to the site and enjoy the sights. So off we went - a three hour car journey, Cath and i, big Emma and little Emma in the car.

We met Buff, Nicole, Patrick and Sarah at the campsite - they'd had a puncture along the way - that seems to happen to Buff a lot when he drives this pass - and they had already set up their tent. We forgot our camera, so all these pics are courtesy of Nicole Borwick (c)...

We set up our tent, taking it in turns to keep an eye on little Emz.

Like his dad, Patrick likes watching work being done...

It was evening already, we'd already worked a half day shift, so by the time we got there, it was supper and bottle time.

But Patrick stayed up a bit longer, watching his dad get lessons in how to start a fire.

The men.

Mom and dad take Emma off for nappies, wees and teeth.

The next morning, it was already quite hot, and breakfast time was well received.

Morning tea - vital.

Buff eats his son's breakfast - "Well he wasn't eating it!" and little Emma gives the Borwicks a lesson in how much food she can pack away in one sitting.

A rare photo of Nicole - she did most of the camera work this trip.

"I miss my comfy bed, Alan."

"My bed was REALLY comfy Emma."

Buff and I share a moment of love.

But the pressure of no tea evet two hours was starting to tell. I strangled my wife with a Kazahkstani face crush hold and got little Emma in a Clilean neck lock.

Emma recovered quickly and was soon playing with Paddy again.

And so off to the rock pool - the highlight of the campsite.

Partick wasn't so sure about this whole open water thing... but with a little encouragement took the plunge and even made it to the other side...

... where we sat under the over hanging rock while the jumpers made a splash.

I carried the little tyke across the water.

The kids enjoy the umbrella's shade on the other side afterwards.

Emma strikes a pose. For Nicole, not me, yeah?

We were also striking poses. Me in lil Emma's sunhat. How cute is my daughter in her little cozzie?

Back at the camp, it was yoghurt time, or ya-ya as it is commonly called.

As if Facebook, gmail and hotseminakedswedishblondes.com weren't taking up enough of my time, now I'm writing a blog!

Oh well - it just goes to show - any idiot can write a blog.
