Late April: Joseph's 2nd bday and more bits n bobs

How pretty...

She's such a sweet and gorgeous baby you say. Well yes, there is that side of her, but there's also another... the never stop screaming side. Sigh. She really didn't like being put down at all in those early months...

Emma's 'There's something about Mary' hairstyle.

Chloe enjoying her basin. Well I can't say bath cos she's in the basin. Okay fine, her bath in the basin.

Joe's second birthday party. In years to come I will look back at these few years and remember they past in a flurry of nappies, screams and birthday parties.

Joseph is Malcolm and Marianne's eldest child, Emma loves playiong with him (well, his toys).

And soon after that party, Emma went off to another - probably the same day, cos that's very common....

This time is was Emma's second cousin Jessie...
A million screaming girls... what fun.

We're not doing the disposable nappies this time, we're using the washable ones - they look quite cool when hanging up. So we took a piccie...

"Go outside cat."
"Understand this: I'm not going anywhere. Do I make myself clear?"

Asked Emma to draw a face... this was her effort. Not bad for a two-year old. Oh my word, I'm SUCH a proud dad. My girls' squiggles make me beam with pride.

Emma ready for bed - with Elmo for company and then Ducky. Glasses? Don't ask me.

An unexpected trip to the Spur (or Spur Spur as Emma calls it) for lunch. Mmm. Smileys for lunch.

A few of lil Chloe - looking a bit surprised by the world.

Emma's dress sense - she obviously gets it from her moth... oh who am I fooling, she gets it from me.

Chloe and Nico baptism - 17 Jun

So we did a joint baptism again - Emma and Dominique were baptised by Fr Charles
together and this time it was the turn of Chloe and lil Nicholas.

We asked Steve and Sarah to be the godparents.
Janet asked Cobus (big Louis' brother) and Bren (my oldest brother)
.

Happy families.

Oh ja, sorry if some of these photies are grainy or blurred, I gave the camera to someone to take pics and they didn't know to use the flash, but I figured for your interest, I'd include em anyway... so you can get a feeling of the day...

Emma found it all quite fascinating.

Yeah, dunk her Fr Charles!

Lil Chloe - she sure cried less than Emma. Then again, cattle being culled cry less than Emma did.

A bit of a mishmash of photies this, but hey, I'm about a year behind in my blog posts - give me a break!

And a VERY proud looking Granny and Aunty...

And some proud looking parents too.

A few random pics from soon after Chloe was born

A juice and a lollipop - with a butterfly on her face - could she be any happier?

Dad with his two girls - could I be any happier?

Chloe had a vice-like grip from a very early age. Mom's finger was squeezed tight!

Our German friend Fritz (who we met in Dublin) is cycling around the world and stayed with us after his flight to Cape Town. He, and his friend, headed off to Lesotho and Swaziland the next day, before they made their way up to DR Congo.

I took this without Cath knowing. Warm and comfy inside, Cath has to fix the pool and headed out in the pouring rain dressed like a complete dork. Sorry, I mean cutie-pie. She looked VERY cool. Yes, I know what you're thinking - why wasn't it me out there? Don't be silly, I wouldn't have fitted into those wellie boots.

Emma puts Teddy on the toilet. Even teddies poo. Obviously.

Proud and happy dad.

The folks left their car with us for a few days when they went on a trip and we took that opportunity to wash it for them. Emma was very helpful, painting it clean with her toothbrush and watering it using the hose.
So eager to help, is my child.

In our back garden, we get squirrels quite often. So I tried to introduce Emma and Chloe to them, although this guy was a lot more brave than I thought he would be... yislike he came close, he was pretty much eating out of my hand... the girls were VERY excited by it all.
Okay, okay... considering the fact that it has been almost a year, I have to say sorry.
But you know what they say... have a child and say goodbye to your spare time.
Have a SECOND child and the husband can say goodbye to his spare time.
And so it appears.

The last time I posted on here was just after Chloe was born.

So there's lots to catch up on...
but no, i won't shnoep (short-change) you.

Brace yourselves.... the posts are coming soon.

The World according to Valkenburg

As if Facebook, gmail and hotseminakedswedishblondes.com weren't taking up enough of my time, now I'm writing a blog!

Oh well - it just goes to show - any idiot can write a blog.
