Boulders trip

So we grabbed the grandparents and headed to tourist spot Boulders beach, a protected breeding ground for penguins. When I was a laaitjie (youngster) you could swim and walk next to the lil birds but these days they have their own beach where they hang around, an egg-laying area and a viewing deck for tourists.

Moulting season makes em a bit fluffy.

I'm glad we did it - you can live next to something awesome but never bother to visit just because 'we can do that whenever we want' - but oftten, that's when you never do.

Alan's girls... and the family shot.

Checking out the hot chicks.

Emma peering out

... and my parents, fondly referred to as the old fogies.

Chloe, in her pram until now, enjoyed the freedom of the beach, and ate about a kilo of sand.

Happy girls.

Granny giving a protecting hug.

That hat is so cute... when she doesn't pull it off every three seconds.

And i just LOVE this photo - Cath's facebook wall photo....

Muizenberg and other smiley moments - late Aug

Muizenberg beach - Emma's a bit too small to surf yet, she's only been on the board once, but the Berg is still good for catching some rays. And it has a playpark too, so everyone's a winner.

Chloe's first taste of the Muizenberg air.

Now I kid you not - the photo on the left shows all the clothes we took off Emma. She likes to dress herself now, and she really likes her leggings, so she puts on six pairs at the same time, not getting the fact that we can only see the top pair. I suppose we should be grateful though, there were only three tops on this occasion. On the right, Chloe really loving bath time. What a bloody smiley baby.

Speaking of smiles, Cath lay down for a bit on Emma's bed and Emma decided Cath should read to her, so took some light reading for Cath to get going with.... she just kept on piling them on top of Cath in the bed until... photo on right... the bookshelves were all empty.

More pics of our smiley daughter.

Cailey to play, etc - mid August

So this is Emma and Chloe having a WONDERFUL time - Emma rolling Chloe backwards and forwards. The first time we saw this we nearly hit the roof, but Chloe laughs so much when she's being tossed and turned by her big sister, we thought she could do it if Chloe was on the bed.

Lots of rain in August in Cape Town - flooding my flowerbeds to the point where they were under an inch of water. You see foreign people - it DOES rain in Cape Town.

 Toothy grin.

What's better than baking with mommy? Decorating the cupcakes with icing? No! Eating the baking afterwards, of course.

Blowing bubbles for Shadow again... not dog waiting to pounce in background.

And Cailey (daughter of Darron and Carryn) came to play - we started off with some trampoline time - but Emma kept playing "The monsters are coming -RWWAAAH!" - and lying on her, which is a popular Valkenburg game, but not normally enjoyed by other children not used to being covered to be protected from dinosaur bites.
Then onto the Emma (Wendy) house and finally, some Barbie and Gummi bears TV time.

Storm weather - turns big dogs into moosh.

Ag cute man, how cute is this? Chloe's little Hello Kitty stockings. There are just too many cute outfits for little girls.

You may not be able to see this - but Emma has fallen asleep with Elmo on her face.

My fairy princess in her princess dress - a gift from granny, I think.

Springboks v Argies at Newlands - 18 Aug

So at R400 a ticket, this was a bit of a sacrifice, but hey, you only live once, and it was a great eve out watching the Boks play Argentina in the newly-expanded Tri-Nations (now "The Championship" - random name). We won, which was cool.

cath's a big rugby fan too, so I consider this an anniversary present.

The sunset was pretty awesome, but I don't think this photo quite catches it...

The World according to Valkenburg

As if Facebook, gmail and hotseminakedswedishblondes.com weren't taking up enough of my time, now I'm writing a blog!

Oh well - it just goes to show - any idiot can write a blog.
